Teaching experience includes: Winthrop University, Webber College and teaching assistantships at University of Tennessee and University of Delaware. Areas of teaching experience include marketing, retailing, fashion merchandising, public relations and entrepreneurship. Current research interests include the semiotic analysis of clothing, customer service, retail store image, small business and entrepreneurship. Has worked with individual clients such as the Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce, and a local bank as a marketing consultant, as well as other small businesses through the Small Business Development Center and Center for Economic Development. Has published articles in the Journal of Business Research and the Clothing and Textiles Research Journal. Has presented papers at conferences sponsor by the International Textile and Apparel Association, the Southwestern Marketing Association, Small Business Institute Director's Association, the American Collegiate Retailing Association, the Southeast Case Research Association, the Academy of Entrepreneurship, and the Conference on Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education. Served on the Charlotte Chapter of the American Marketing Association Board for seven years as secretary, collegiate affairs liaison, and President.
