    Department Summary:

    The department offers four degree programs:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CSCI)
  • Computer Information Systems (CIFS) option for the B.S. in Business Administration
  • Web Application Design concentration for the B.S. in Information Design
  • Software Project Management (SPM) concentration of the M.B.A. program
    • The department also provides the Quantitative Methods offerings of the College of Business Administration. These offerings include service courses for the undergraduate business programs, and for the MBA and EMBA programs.
     
    Accreditation:
    The Winthrop University computer science bachelors degree is accredited by the Accrediting Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET is the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. Among the most respected accreditation organizations in the U.S., ABET has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 70 years. The Winthrop computer science department is located in the College of Business Administration. The college's business degree programs, including the CIFS option, are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premiere business school accrediting organization. Winthrop University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
