
Cece
Sutton, EVP and head of Wachovia's Retail and Small Business Bank, is
transforming the country's third largest retail bank into a truly
national franchise as she integrates the company's latest bank merger
with World Savings, a company based out of California that has bank
branches in 10 states, including California, Arizona and Nevada -- new
territories for Wachovia. Sutton will speak about her experiences
leading Wachovia's retail organization through times of change,
including the acquisition of SouthTrust and the merger of equals between
First Union and Wachovia, and how she is applying those lessons to the
company's latest evolution.
Cece is a graduate of Winthrop
University’s Executive MBA program (1993) and received her Bachelor of
Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. U.S.
Banker magazine has recognized Cece as one of the most powerful
women in the nation in the banking industry.
Joining Wachovia Bank in 1978, she has
held a number of positions including: Head of General Bank operations,
South Carolina; area banking executive, Rock Hill, SC; training
director, Consumer Bank; manager, Consumer Bank, Greenville, S.C.; sales
manager, Consumer Credit, Charlotte, N.C.; branch manager, Raleigh and
Cary, N.C.
Cece serves on the board of the Consumer
