PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNING
The objective of the personal
financial planning option is to cultivate a learning-centered
program that qualifies students to take the CFP®
Certification Examination and prepares them to assume positions
in large financial planning firms. Financial institutions,
especially banks, mutual fund organizations, insurance
companies, and independent financial planning firms recruit
students who are prepared to take the CFP®
Certification Examination. Courses in the option include
estate planning, introduction to tax, fundamentals of insurance,
and employee benefits and retirement planning. Students
are strongly encouraged to take a comprehensive review course
prior to taking the CFP®
Certification Examination.
