Facts About the College of Business Administration

 1.  There are three degree programs in the College of Business Administration:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

  • Bachelor of Arts in Economics

 2.  The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration includes a Business "Core" and
      an "Option" in a business related field.

      The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science includes a  "Major" in Computer Science  
      and a "Second Discipline" in information systems, math and physics, or any other     
      university approved minor. 

      The Bachelor of Arts in Economics includes a "Major" in Economics and a university       
      approved minor.  

 3.  The appropriate Academic Inventory Sheet outlines every course that you need to take
      to complete your degree.  

 4.  You must have a 2.0 GPA and 54 hours in order to take courses numbered above 299 
      in the College of Business. 
    
     CBA designators are: ACCT, BADM, CSCI, ECON, ENTR, FINC, HCMT,
     MGMT, MKTG, QMTH.

 5.  You must earn a "C" or better in WRIT 101 and WRIT 102.

 6.  To earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration you must earn a "C" or better
      in all core and option courses. 

      For the Computer Science degree you must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better
      on all computer science courses.

      For the Economics degree you must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on 
      all economics courses.

7.  You must have an overall 2.0 GPA and a minimum of 124 semester hours to
     graduate from Winthrop University.

 8.  To earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration you must complete
      48 hours numbered above 299. 

     For the Computer Science and Economics degree you must complete 40
     hours numbered above 299. 

 9.  A senior audit is completed once you have earned 70 hours toward your degree
      program.  This audit will assure that you are taking the appropriate course work. 

 10.  PLSC 201 or ECON 103 or HIST 211 & 212 must be taken to fulfill Winthrop's
        Constitutional Requirement. 

11.  ACAD 101, is required for all first time entering freshman. 

12.  You are required to attend three cultural events for every 20 hours completed at
       Winthrop, not to exceed 18 events.
